PEER TUTORING

What is Peer Tutoring?

Peer Tutoring is a way for fellow Kāpiti College students to help you with your subjects. Peer tutors often explain topics differently than teachers -- they are a great way for you to solidify your understanding of what you learn in class. There is NO COST to peer tutoring -- it's 100% free!

Note: A Peer Tutor is not a replacement for a teacher (even though the tutors are very good)! Your first point of contact should always be your teacher.

How does Peer Tutoring work?

Peer Tutoring is managed by your Academic Captains:

You should fill in the Peer Tutoring - Requests Google Form on this document to request Peer Tutoring. The list of Peer Tutors is shown below. When a student fills in the form, it notifies one of us, and we pair you up with a student who can help.

Once we pair you up with a tutor, YOU will be the one to organize tutorial sessions with them - where and when to meet, etc. Peer Tutoring will always be free at Kāpiti College.

I want to become a Peer Tutor. How?

Excellent! We're always in need of more volunteers. Please fill in the Becoming a Peer Tutor Google Form on this document. One of us Academic Captains will screen your application, show it to your previous teachers, and then confirm you (or not) based on their response.
